3. Our church youth led by Lynne Higa (and with the assistance of our cleaning crew) have agreed to take on the task of collecting plastic bottles and aluminum cans thrown away at church. Proceeds from the recycling will be used toward children and youth and Awana activities. Everyone can help by separating these recyclables in the proper containers when disposing.
4. The new mid-week Bible Study for women based on the book, “Walking in God’s Promises” will tentatively start on Tuesday, February 25, pending receipt of Bible study books and other preparations. Please contact Susie if you are interested, theway1cor13@gmail.com.
5. WUBC will be hosting future BCM dinners on February 27 and May 1. Lynne Higa is coordinating food and volunteer sign-ups for these dinners. Thank you to the many who have already responded. Lynne may be reached at 808-217-2733.
6. The Baptist Collegiate Ministry has invited teens/youth from WUBC to participate in an 'epic game night' with BCM and other church youth during the March 17-21 Spring Break. Please contact Anita Bice at anitabice1@gmail.com or (615) 243-6482 if your youth would like to participate and to get further information.
7. Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention’s latest quarterly newsletter is now available online. Go to the tab provided below. Members are encouraged to consider attending the upcoming HPBC Annual Meeting that will be held November 20-21 in Kailua-Kona this year. Information will be posted on the HPBC website and we will be reporting to you as it becomes available.
8. Volunteers still needed: Prayers are answered as other church members have come forward to assist in various church needs. But more volunteers will be welcomed to help lighten the loads. If the Lord is leading you to serve but you're not sure what you could help with, please contact one of the deacons.
9. Please check Section B, Prayer Requests, in today’s Friday Update. We have deleted many of the names listed on this list, and, in particular, for "#9 Various concerns for members", due to lack of information on the status of these prayer requests. The names will be re-inserted onto the list should information clarifying their need for prayer be submitted to Prayer Update Coordinator Susie Frias or one of the deacons.
